COMMON TYPES OF SYSTEMS:
MID-WALL SPLIT UNITS / SYSTEMS:
Split type air conditioners are named as such because they split the components of a traditional air conditioning system into two individual units – one indoor and one outdoor. The outdoor unit houses the compressor and condenser components, while the indoor unit contains the distribution and filter components.
UNDERCEILING UNITS / SYSTEMS:
Under ceiling air conditioners are similar to ceiling cassette in the fact that they are ceiling mounted, however, they are more appropriate in settings that do not benefit from a false or suspended ceiling to install the system into. These units can also be installed as a floor standing unit.
CASSETTE UNITS / SYSTEMS:
Cassette air conditioning units are designed for commercial and residential applications. Ideal for large open plan areas, or irregular shaped rooms they fit conveniently and discreetly into any area with a false or suspended ceiling.
DUCTED UNITS / SYSTEMS:
Ducted air conditioning works by funneling cool air from a central unit (usually installed in your roof) through a series of ducts to every room in your home or commercial property. The circulation of air is usually zoned, that allows you to control airflow, temperature and turning off any zones.
EVAPORATIVE AIR COOLERS / SYSTEMS:
An evaporative cooler is a device that cools air through the evaporation of water. Evaporative cooling differs from other air conditioning systems, which use vapour-compression or absorption refrigeration cycle.
AIR CURTAIN / SYSTEMS:
The primary function of an air curtain is to keep the inside temperature steady within a building, without the air-conditioning system having to run continuously, thus saving energy. The air curtain is also used to keep flies and bugs out of a shop or building.
